Just a short thought for today

Preacher’s Pulpit Apr. 26, 2014 Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Have you ever had to do something that you don’t want to do? How do we react to these situations when we are faced with them? Do we still act like a Christian or do we gripe and complain? I would venture to say that most of us are faced with something we don’t want to do on a daily basis. We have become a society of self pleasers. Sometimes we want to do what God wants us to if it fits our own agenda. But often times God will ask us to do something that we don’t want to do because it will take us out of our comfort zone. God forbid that we should become uncomfortable doing his will! (Sarcasm) Even Jesus was faced with this delimma in the Garden of Gethsemane as we can see in Mat. 26:36-39, “ 36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” May the Lord bless you and keep you in his hands till we meet again. Hike to the Chattahoochee Head Waters 09/04/19

Preacher's Pulpit Series #9

, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.   I pray that everyone made it home safe and sound from Gettysburg.   For me it was a wonderful experience.   Not only did I get to participate with my comrades in arms I got to see some sites that I have never been to before.   These included Harpers Ferry, Winchester, Kernstown, Cedar Creek, Cross Keys, and Port Republic where the Jackson campaign ended in 1862.   I also found the site where the great General of Jackson’s Calvary, Turner Ashby, fell after his horse was shot out from under him leading the rear guard.   May he rest in peace.                 The one disappointment that I had was due to schedule changes.
