Living History at Kennesaw Mtn.

Arriving at 02:00 on the 29th instant I unloaded my truck and set up my campsite on the left flank of the main camp.  The stillness of the night seemed eerie in the pristine moonlight night revealing a deer grazing nearby oblivious to the carnage that had taken place here.

When I awoke I was glad to see large coffee pots warming on the nearby campfire.  After consuming coffee, hard boiled egg, raisin bread, and a V-8, we prepared for the day.  We were ordered to do 4 presentations for the public each day including different formations, uniforms, history of the units we were portraying which had fought here, weapons, tactics, and firing demonstrations.

In between these demos, we had several tourists and visitors tour our campsite and we were given the opportunity to further teach them what these brave men had gone through.

On Sunday, I held a church service but had to cut it short due to time constraints.  I pray that what the Lord wanted to present to the people was able to get through in the short period of time that I was allowed.

As the day progress on Sunday out ranks became smaller and smaller as folks were leaving to go home.  We had folks from Al, GA, TN, and KY,  I want to thank these men who thought it worth while to travel great distances to honor those that went before us and teach posterity to do the same.
                                               May we never forget!
