Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.   There sure is allot happening in the world today.   Could it be a sign of the times?   Recently, our Supreme Court made it law that gay couples can legally get married in all fifty states.   This once again is usurping the rights of the states by our federal government.   Next, an insane person goes in a black church and kills nine people after sitting through the service with them and because someone saw him with a Confederate battle flag on the internet we are seeing the systematic destruction of an entire culture and heritage that was also based on state's rights.   Even though it is the leaders of these states that are doing it in the name of political correctness without the consent of the people. The other day the Lord brought the word " ruler " to my mind.   This is an interesting word in that it can have a couple of different meanings depending on how it is used.   Now days when I think of the word I instantly picture what we call a measuring stick or a yard stick.   These measuring devices come in different lengths and you can use whichever one suits your needs.   Now in Biblical days they would use a reed or perhaps a man's arm and would measure an item from the tip of the finger to the elbow.   This was called a " cubit ".                 The word " ruler " in Biblical days meant one who was in charge or command such as a king or a high priest.   These rulers would make rules for the people that they ruled over to obey.   If a person disobeyed a rule or broke a rule then they would be punished.   The punishment would depend on the seriousness of the...

Preacher’s Pulpit Apr. 26, 2014 Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Have you ever had to do something that you don’t want to do? How do we react to these situations when we are faced with them? Do we still act like a Christian or do we gripe and complain? I would venture to say that most of us are faced with something we don’t want to do on a daily basis. We have become a society of self pleasers. Sometimes we want to do what God wants us to if it fits our own agenda. But often times God will ask us to do something that we don’t want to do because it will take us out of our comfort zone. God forbid that we should become uncomfortable doing his will!
