Preacher's Pulpit Series #4

Preacher’s Pulpit Mar. 31, 2013                   Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.   I hope everyone had a blessed Resurrection Day!   I am writing this on Resurrection Day .   I am sitting here at work separated from my family and alone with Jesus.   Quite interesting is the fact that the machine I was working on this morning broke down and my boss said to let it go until Monday.   I guess that the Lord must want me to write about things that pertain to the Kingdom.   God works in mysterious ways!   There are a lot of thoughts that go through my head on a day such as this so let me see if I can sort them out and write down what the Spirit wants me to.   To me, on a day such as this, one can’t help but think of salvation and the awful price that was paid for it.   It is only through the shedding of the blood o...

Just a short thought for today

Preacher’s Pulpit Apr. 26, 2014 Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Have you ever had to do something that you don’t want to do? How do we react to these situations when we are faced with them? Do we still act like a Christian or do we gripe and complain? I would venture to say that most of us are faced with something we don’t want to do on a daily basis. We have become a society of self pleasers. Sometimes we want to do what God wants us to if it fits our own agenda. But often times God will ask us to do something that we don’t want to do because it will take us out of our comfort zone. God forbid that we should become uncomfortable doing his will! (Sarcasm) Even Jesus was faced with this delimma in the Garden of Gethsemane as we can see in Mat. 26:36-39, “ 36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of ...

Preacher's Pulpit Series #3

Preacher’s Pulpit Feb. 17, 2012                   Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ .   Hearing God:   How can one hear God amidst all the noise we are surrounded with today?   Even in New Testament times there were instances where God spoke in a quite distinguishable voice.   Some wonder why He doesn’t do that today.   The answer can be found in the Gospel of John 16:12-15 “ 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come , he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear , that shall he speak : and he will shew you things to come . 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I ...

Preacher's Pulpit #2

Preacher’s Pulpit Jan. 5, 2014 Comrades, greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. I love this time of year! New beginnings, new starts, new resolutions, and of course, a new year. In reality, each day when we wake up in the morning or whenever if you work shifts like me, we have a fresh start. You may have heard the saying that “this is the first day of the rest of your life”. This is a true statement that someone with Godly wisdom came up with. Just as each day when you get out of bed is a new start so it is when you receive Jesus as your Savior. The Word says in 2nd Cor. 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” When you receive Jesus as your Savior he takes an eraser and erases all of the long lists of sins that the devil has wrote on the chalk board of Heaven and writes your name in the Book of Life. With this new life though comes new responsibilities. We are n...
